Area under status bar isn't functioning after latest update

Hello,
I have updated my F8131 to 39.2.A.0.417. After that, the area under the status bar isn't functioning in full screen mode. At first I thought the reason was the applications I use, however then realized that it's the same on the home screen. It's a bug, I suppose.

settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test the touchscreen.

Thanks @uliwooly, now I know more about the issue.

When I touch that part, sensitivity is lost and screen thinks I touched whole area vertically under status bar even though I touch just a little part. I don't know how to explain this in a simpler way.

that seems to be a hardware issue, you should contact your local support to get it inspected.

Do you think an update can harm the device in the hardware?

Hi @ofybenim,

An update is unlikely to harm the hardware, it is possible it's a coincedence that this happened during the update.

If you want to rule out any software problem, run a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will completely re-install the firmware, and erase your phone, so make sure you run a backup first.
