Battery drain

Phone idle seems to be using a lot of power and battery draining really fast any suggestions, restarted phone no joy cheers

After i update my xperia x to 7.1.1 i've experinced over heating and battery drain... 😞 call history lag too...

It's a big shame for a company like sony...

Have you tried the step I mentioned earlier? Testing it in safe mode?

Cheers Cameron there was a noticeable improvement in battery in safe mode cheers just finding out which is causing it, possible Google fit as it measures your steps not 100%

I have had this issue for a while on and off. Phone gets hot too. Usually its screen, phone idle and Google play services that are the main battery drain. Tryong safe mode for a bit to see if that helps. Will do a day tomorrow of normal use, or as normal as safe mode will allow, and report back.

You can check in Settings > Battery > Show battery usage see what apps are using the most power.

@Rainking37
The main battery usage should be Screen, followed by Android and standby/idle.

I have the same problem. After last update, the phone started to heat. And battery is being consumed very quickly. I am using same apps before the update. Before the update I did not have these problems.

I advice you to factory reset Your Phone, or, if this is not sufficient repair your software with companion by your PC, it resolve any problem.....my Device fly after this.

As @Mino88 suggested, if you are having no luck with the rest of it try a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Ended up doing a factory reset as I couldn't get the software repair to work kept failing now it won't charge past 95% driving me mad

If you are unable to do the software repair using Xperia Companion, then I recommend you contact your Local support team to arrange a repair assessment.

Hi Sony,

I am running the latest update of android oreo version. It seems after update my phone drains out quickly. I have the Sony Xperia X model.
