Sony Xperia X does not have a Ingress Protection rating, which means it is not water resistant and you should not let the device get in contact with water.

Though I have accidentally spilled coffee over my Xperia X and it is still working today.

I dropped my phone in a puddle roughly 3inches deep, and it was submerged for a few seconds before I managed to grab it, I'm currently typing this on my xperia x with no problems at all

You're lucky that it survived.

There are tests on Youtube.

Here are some general tips to let any electronic device survive after being submerged.

Switch the device off immediately
Dry it thouroughly
Put it in a bowl of rice and leave it there for 24 hours
Switch device on

Patience is a key factor for success and that doesn't count only for submerged devices.

PS: Dry, uncooked rice, of course.

Hi @Strampke,

Yeah, it's like when you drop the device 5 times on the floor but it lands in a good way so the screen isn't cracked, then you can drop it once and it lands very unfortunate and the screen is cracked directly.

As you said, patience in the key and you should not expect it to survive, but in some cases you can be lucky.
