Hi, this is the remote control for AV Receiver DA2400ES.

Two of the most frequently used buttons do not function. I have once taken the remote apart and cleaned the button membrane surfaces and the circuit board printed connections associated with the relevant buttons, and this corrected the problem for a couple of months. The problem is the button membrane surface has eroded/changed electrical contact resistance. A new remote retails at nearly £70! Any ideas as to where to procure a rubber button membrane? - Sony will not supply. Any other ideas? Any more reasonably-priced source of a new remote?

Thanks.

Jim

Hi there

Once upon-a-time... I heard of an alfoil D-I-Ytrick to this. Googling this, I found this website : HERE.

Alternatively, Ebay may bring a cheaper solution.

Cheers

Hi, got around to procuring the tape (found a roll for £1.29!) and tried it out - bit fiddly but after a few tries managed to sort it and it works great! Thanks again. J
