Tried HDMI and optical together - no result. I noticed, that volume indicator using TV remote shows both on soundbar and TV - 20 level is about 12 level on saundbar. However, TV on the same level without soundbar is more louder. It is also not possible to test soundspeakers as I have some guess that all soundspeakers not working.

I have experienced some problem with soundbar Sony HT-CT381 connected to TV KDl-55w805c. I connected these devices using ARC as both have this connection. The problem I have, sound from sound bar is very poor and even TV is louder than saoundbar. I don’t get the reason as everything seems working except sound. Probably problem is with connection as TV ARC is 5.1, but sound bar is 2.1.? Shouldn’t be?! May be I need to tray to connect also as addition optical audio cable?

Hi vabuls, welcome to the Sony UK Community

If all you want to do is have TV audio feed through your soundbar, you only need an optical cable.

Give it a try and see if that fixes the problem.

Cheers

Mick
