battery "100% remaining still charging" - why still charging?

When my battery is charged to 100% it still keeps charging. Any ideas? My old Toshiba switched to "on AC power" once the battery was fully charged.

This is normal, it says charging even though it's finished, it's more of a Windows bug than anything.

I disagree that it's a Windows bug, my Toshiba runs XP and doesn't display this fault!

Has anyone got a VAIO that swaps to "on AC power" once the battery is charged 100% and remains connected to the mains supply?

Actually, the only brand -that I know- that swaps to 'on AC power' is TOSHIBA. Any thoughts?

You're right there - it's only Toshiba.

What they did was write their own mod for Windows so it changes, otherwise it's a Windows bug.

I think the only solution is to remove the battery when it becomes fully charged, Sony don't tell you this, they want you to buy replacement batteries off them!

Removing that battery is a pain and not something I want to be doing daily. So it's not a bug, just a Sony thing? Coming from Toshiba it seems to me that they (Tosh) do a whole load of things better.

My FJ3 has a Toshiba hard-drive, it's the part I don't worry about

They're all swings and roundabouts to me, one does one thing well another does something better. It's all depending on what you want to do with your PC.
