BVD -E6100 DVD player not playing TV sound but does dvd

Recently purchased BVD E6100 DVD player. HDMI connection to the TV (ARC) port. TV Panasonic TX L42E30B.

Connected SKY Box using Opticla digital cord to to DVD player and using HDMI connected SKY box to TV, as per the instruction manual.

DVD plays surround sound when playing DVDs/BluRay but the TV sound does not play through the DVD player, but plays through the tv.

I have scrolled through all sound settings but on the TV, DVD player and SKY but nothing works, so I’m left with sound only playing thought the 5 speakers when the DVD player is on.

anyone any idea what is going wrong here?

did you change the TV speakers to audio system in the TV settings?

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Not able to change the TV speakers

The viera main menu sound menu only provides Mode as Music, Speech or User

Hdmi output is digital or analogue
The latter no sound comes out

Hi,

Maybe this setting is hidden elsewhere in the menu of the viera (HDMI, inputs, ARC, etc...).
