Do you have a SD card mounted in the phone and if so, where is the photos taken with the camera set tot be stored, on the internal memory or on the SD card? Also, have you tried clearing the data for the camera and the album app? This will not erase any previously taken photos but it will reset all the settings for the apps which might do the trick. Find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > Show all XX apps > Album/Camera > Storage > Clear data > Tap "OK" > Restart the phone.
