BRAVIA KD49XH9505BU will not connect on HDMI ARC

I have Sonos Beam and and QM2 sound bar tried both and neither are recognised by the the TV on the HDMI ARC port. My DVD player is recognised and works perfectly

I think it was working initially while I was first setting the TV up until a recent software update last weekend.

Just as I had finished the set up I ran the update and now can not get any sound out of the HDMI ARC port.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi RichAJM, try changing the digital audio out to PCM: Home -Settings- Sound - Digital audio out - PCM. Let us know if that worked.

Thank you for your suggestion but I had already checked that and it made no difference. The Sonos beam is not detected by Bravia Sync when connected to the HDMI-ARC connection and I think it should be seen by it?

I know this isn't the most logical thing to suggest since it used to work but I've seen it work before; Have you tried a different/high quality HDMI cable?

Have you tried clearing the cache and restarting or resetting to factory defaults?

I have now heard from Sony that they are going to replace the HDMI board on the TV. I hope that this solves it.

I have already done a reset with no luck and the process of resetting up all the emails for all the different services is not the work of a few moments so I hope to avoid that again!!

Thank you for taking the time to reply Joe

I have now had a new main processor board fitted and this has fixed it. The engineer said he had seen quite few of these problems.
