Still having issues with this sound system and my android TV. When changing channels after a few days following a soft reset it will not play sound and a further reset is required. Rather annoying and disappointing considering this is Sony's premier sound system. My advice don't bother buying the soundbar.
Why isn’t your advice to not bother buying the TV? 😛
But all joking apart, you are sure you are blaming the right piece of kit?
Hi Royabrown2,
You're absolutely right, the problem could well be with the TV. However the sound from the TV, which has been working fine in all usage, is pretty good. It's the base frequencies that are much better from the sounbar, giving a better listening experience to movies and alike. But having to continuously reset the TV is annoying and disappointing.
I think that Sony have a huge problem with their TV's and soundbars. I have similar problem when changing channels i have audio drop of 2-3 seconds. Also when press pause or fast forward. This is horrible. I already tried factory reset a 1000 times of TV and Soundbar , latest firmware but the same problem. If you google it Sony soundbar audio drop you'll see a lot of problems.
@Bjdr1975 I believe the issue is the TV as @royabrown2 suggested. I've seen some similar posts on Twitter (and here on the forums) with different models, so it seems to be a software issue.
The latest version available is v6.5042 but it also seems like Sony is working on an update to solve audio issues.
The workaround I've seen work is clearing the cached data (under Device Preferences - Storage - Internal Shared Storage - Cached data) then restarting by holding power.
Hopefully this will solve it for you or at least temporarily tide you over till the next update.
