KD-55XF9005 No option to Register HDD for Recording
I'm trying to register a HDD for Recording so that I can try to bin my Sky Subscription. I've tried 2 different Western Digital HDD but I don't have the option to Register them for Recording. I do get the option to register them for Storage and the can be formatted and achieve the 256GB as per below. Without registering them for Storage the 1TB HDD are recognised but there is no option to Register for recording.
What am I doing wrong.

Hey Ed_Dash, what's the model number of your TV? Did you get a compatible HDD?

I bet the Read/Write speed isn't fast enough. You can check the user manual of the TV and the HDD, I think it has to be above 130MB per second...that might not be the correct speed, you TV manual will tell you, however I believe that will be the problem. Especial as they are HDDs rather than SSDs...much slower

I would recommend to format them using Windows laptop to the FAT32 type.
