Hi
I've just purchased a XR-55A84JU, when I read the specs online it said 16gb on board storage, when I look in the storage settings it says 4.4gb with 592mb available, is this correct? I have a USB stick that I have formatted to use as device storage, very few apps will use the move to the USB space.
Hi @NeilHeyes
Can you please post a link to where you found that 16GB stated?
Thanks @NeilHeyes
I did search for the information before requesting the link, but, unusually, failed to find it, so thanks for that.
I think your best bet is to give Sony a call (UK support in this link)
https://www.sony.co.uk/presscentre/contacts
and ask them for an explanation as to where your missing 12GB has gone.
And please let us know what Sony say!
Hi @NeilHeyes Please remember that the storage includes the operating system and installed apps by default. However I have to agree there does not appear to be a lot of user space. I just checked my KD-55XE9305 and it tells me I have 6.9GB of internal shared storage available. Storage (16GB).
I've finally spoken to sony, they're telling me it's the OS that's using the missing space, windows 10 and all it's bloatware doesn't use much more lol. It's always irritating when they state onboard storage, they should be made to state the available storage after the OS and included apps are installed. I've tried to run a USB stick as device storage but the applications seem to run slower
Hey NeilHeyes, you can use an external storage like a HDD.
