What is the "display" button on the STR-DN1060's remote for?

There's a button on the remote called "display" which does nothing apart from show me on the TV screen what input is being used.

On other Sony AV devices (such as my previous BluRay surround sound kit) the "display" button would show lots of information about the current sound input - bit rate, format, number of channels, etc.

I assume that the display button on the STR-DN1060 would do the same, so is there a setting I've missed, or am I assuming wrong?

Cheers

Hi there

Can I assume that you also have a Sony Android TV?  If so, it is probably related to this issue:

No, it's an 5 or 6 year old Bravia model.

That idea is out then

All the manual says is:

  1. DISPLAY
Displays information on the TV screen.

Do you have a device like a bluray player connected to the AV Reciever - if so, play a movie and then press 'Display' and see what happens

If that fails - what is the model of the TV?  It might need 'Bravia Sync' or Control for HDMI enabled?
