Charging the Xperia P with a different cable

Guys is it okay if i use a sony ericsson adapter but a different USB to microUSB cable to charge the phone or will it result in degradation of performance???

yes, it will not make any difference.

I tried using a diffrnt usb cable for charging ..no effect on performance however the charging speed went slow as compared with the original cable.

Because you see when i asked a vendor here,he told me xperia phones start hanging if i use a different cable..so i just want to make sure before i buy the cable..

have you been using the phone while charging?anway,try another time to charge and just leave the phone alone,see if the speed increases.
