hold "power button + volume down" at the same time. if you keep getting the volume bar then i suggest to press the power button a split second earlier than volume down button.

Where are the supposed screenshots to be found on the phone? Is it still the /mnt/sdcard/Pictures/screenshots folder?

I am trying to take screenshots to test if the MBE is working or not, but I have a feeling I haven't managed to capture any screenshots on the .45 build of ICS.

Then it's not working for me at all. I've tried 20+ times, including the way Edison suggested. But I get nothing or then the volume bar appears on the screen. I could be stupid too, but in how many different ways one can press the combination of power button + volume down button?

just press them both at the same time, the screen will do a little capture-type motion, and the camera shutter sound will play, it'll also notify you in the notifications pull-down that a screenshot has been taken.

power and volume down at the same time, hold for about 3 seconds or so...

I do understand that the this way of taking a shot is very cumbersome and annoying.

Thanks a lot, I got it now! For once I was being an idiot and the phone software wasn't at fault

I haven't seen anyone else write to hold down both buttons for 3 seconds. The problem was I was holding both buttons for too short of a time. But I agree with you, taking a screenshot in GB was easier than the way it's done in ICS.

Onto test the MBE before the software update to .50...
