The minimum requirements for Android 2.3 Gingerbread are

MUST have at least 128MB of memory available to the kernel and userspace. The 128MB MUST be in addition to any memory

there is no CPU/GPU minimum requirements

I think Xperia Users deserve a better reason on to why their phones aren't receiving any future updates and NO it's not due to hardware limitations

yeah I've seen cheap tablets and cheap android phones with really slow processors, not so much internal memory and a fraction of the RAM and they have at least froyo

Then lets make a petition letter/signature campaign to have Sony Ericsson upgrade our smartphones (X8, W8, X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro, and all SE owners that has Android 2.1 Eclair) to upgrade our smartphones to at least Android 2.2 and perhaps if possible Android 2.3. Man we are paying money for these stuffs. Our precious monies are not just easily picked up along the road, we worked hard for it and this is what we get when we buy Sony Ericsson smartphones? Common guys.

there were threads for that, but nothing happen, actually something did happen

1) the X10 got an update to 2.3.3 but it's full of bugs and major issues

2) we got the "explanation" tha tyou saw above, which doesn't add up

w8 is also a part of sony ericsson family...if live walkman get update of andriod 4 then w8 walkman also get an update.....

only 2011 Xperias will get Android 4.0, but I think they should release 2.3.7 to all Xperias. I don't know how will 2010 Xperias handle ICS, not even the Nexus One will get ICS. but it might work w/o Sony's UIX

walkman w8 launch in 2011..i thing i am rit..might be..but andriod 2.1 update1 should be updated to higher andriod..sony ericsson have to think at once abt their old models to....but gpw8 is a new phone it shold hav an update..
