Unabe to set track as ringtone after Jelly bean update in Experia P

After Jelly bean update, when I go to Settings-> Sound -> Ringtones , option to open Music Library and select a track is not available. Only installed ringtones can be selected.

Please help, this was working very fine earlier.

This problem also occurs with Notification and Alarm sound.

Hello Sonia ,

What alex said is correct u should be getting the music note symbol in the sound picker.

Another way around is through the walkman app>MyMusic>Tracks> Long press on any track and the last option is set as ringtone.

Btw i find ur sound picker moded. ru on stock rom ??

Hi Mithun,

I was able to set ringtones by long press on a specific Track.

Can you please explain what you mean by "Btw i find ur sound picker moded. ru on stock rom ??"

Hi Alex,

I could not find sound picker on selecting ringtones option. When I scroll down, I can only find ringtones, and no sound picker to select track in Music Library.

Ok,i am glad you could set a ringtone,i forgot you could set a ringtone like mithun told you.He means that your sound picker is different,if you look at my pic and at your pic they differ a little,he thought your phone is rooted.

I have the problem with ringtones too. I know how to assign a track as a ringtone but would like to have an option to assign different tracks to different contacts. After update all my ringtones have been changed and I tried to change one of the ringtones. After beginning the window opened with two options for choosing the ringtones and question if I want to use the marked option only once or always. Unfortunately I clicked on "always" and now cannot returned to the previous possibilities. Can you help? Thanks.

To set a ringtone to a person, you have to edit from phone book.as for how to return and get those options,i do not have an answer yet.

It depends on what you selected as "always". All you need to do generally is navigate to Main menu > Settings > Apps > All > Locate the program you selected as "always" and tap "clear defaults".

Hi Sam,

The problem which is pointed in above post, i.e. selecting Music "always" after the Jelly bean update caused this problem because after phone does not gives option to select Music Library.

I went to Main menu > Settings > Apps > All and performed reset for all apps because for Sound Picker it was showing that default Settings are selected.

Now, on selecting Sound-> Ringtones, I get the option to select Sound Picker.

Thank you very much for your help! and I will suggest that the phone should ask always to select Sound Picker or Music when setting Sounds as this leads to all such Issues.
