Xperia U upgrade to ICS - is it worth?

Hi,

I've just bought my new Xperia U phone, and I can tell you I like it so much, it is much better than my last Smartphone (which was a Samsung Galaxy Ace).

For Android 2.3 OS I know it has enough RAM, and CPU power, but I am not sure if I upgrade to ICS, what will happen.

I'm afraid it will be slower, and if RAM won't be enough for ICS.

Could you share with me your thoughts about speed issues? (ICS slowers the phone, has alerts on "Not enough memory" etc.)

Thank you so much!

Happy New Year to Everybody!

Peter

Hi!

If you want a new interface and lag all around go for it...

Sometimes you need to restart the phone because the notification sound is off... etc...

Some people say it's good... for me, the lag between menu's, app's, etc... don't give you a better experience, in this phone is a step backward.

Maybe i'm unlucky guy but some people complaint about the same problem's, i tested more Experia's U from other people that i know and the complaints are there to.

Lot’s of time the phone change the message shortcut to the camera… what is that????? Huuuuuuu…..

Happy New Year!!!

It is totally worth it.

New features + faster phone. The one who is facing lag has not done a factory reset. You must do a factory reset after update

The lag ones are new comers ie not updated less than a week ago .

This is a new os so takes time to adjust as system is different

Worth? If you like to say that your phone have the latest update, for sure...

People tend to overreact when they have something in their belly…

Why you write that my phone didn’t have factory reset? You should have shame on your fingers!!!

Installed 4 ICS systems, lot’s of tweaks and turns and the final result is all the same: lag, lag, lag, lag, lag. You can change some things to accelerate the dial or the animation but it tend to lag.

The new comers don’t have lag in a week time period; system work or don’t… so don’t blame on new comers and old ones, lot’s of bugs. Search on the web for people that changed from GB to ICS and returned to GB, you will be surprised.

Keep in mind that Android is roasted by Sony to tweak the interface and features and then the carriers adapt to their platform (junk)… lot’s of people changing and modifying a system in my humble point of view.

Have you ever played with the “big boys toys” using Android (tablet market)? None of them is like iOS, they pretend and people say blá, blá, blá, but is all rubbish, in this case the Xperia U ICS is like that… rubbish.

By the way, new features in ICS, yes, of course… but apart from the system management thing’s and Google voice recognition what have changed? The interface, of course, all pictures and icons… not the user friendly part, that all OS forgot (most of them).

I hope that Sony make a update to polish this type of thing’s and put me a smile on my face for a long time.

Need a video to prof the lag?

Take no offence the “shame finger” but you should write less and think more...
