Well, its pretty nice... but i find it quite dim when compared to the screen of my S series and N series.. I am assuming that they both have 2 backlights and the Full HD AR screen only has single lamp? I mean the white just looks quite 'pale' lol... or is it just me ???

My mum bought an N series and I was stunned by the quality of the screen. When I bought my AR a few weeks later the screen was noticeably dimmer and the middle third (vertically) was ever so slightly dimmer than the rest. That AR got sent back for other reasons but this AR the screen is absolutely superb - easily on par with my mums N series.

Do you know anyone else with an AR you could compare it with?

LOL... no but I do handle a lot of laptops so I can kinda compare it... atm, I have a TX1, S3HP and also the N series as well as the 40w2000 LCD tv i can compare it with... the 40w2000 is easoly bighter than the machine i got... But I can't complain! I bought this as 'faulty' coz someone damaged the harddisc and only paid 642 quid inc. delivery... even a blu ray writer will cost 500! So pretty damn chuffed with it... I had a Qosmio G20 and i think that screen is brighter although it is a lot lower resolution - in fact, don't u think that this screen is painfully high resolution?? I certainly didn't expect the letters to be this small lol... I'm used to typing on my 40" screen at the same res!!

If it wasn't so pin sharp, the high resolution might be a problem but it's such high quality it doesn't matter. I couldn't live with anything less now I'm used to this.
