Hi,
My Vaio FE41S can't connect to the LCD-TV because it doesn't detect the external display.
I use fn + F7 to change the detection mode, but still didn't had any results.
The only way to connect to my LCD TV (SAMSUNG - VGA connection), is to reboot the vaio with the cable connected, but i have many flicks in the screen.
I have another notebook (HP), and i don't have any problem connecting it to the LCD-TV.
Can you help me?
I presume that you are using the s-video connection?
If so connect the display up and turn it on.
Right-click on the battery icon in the system tray and click on "Windows Mobility Center"
In this window there should be a square called "External Display" -> Click the connect display button as this forces the detection process.
Hopefully it'll work

Sorry i didn't read it very well!
When the display is connected, on your desktop right-click and click on personalise then in the new window that appears click on display settings.
Can you now see 2 displays?
Try identify displays and see if you get any picture at all on the TV
Hi,
I can't see the two displays. I use the option to "force" the external display detection, but it only detected one display. I have the latest graphic driver.
It only displays the two displays if i reboot the computer with the cable connected, but the picture is very bad, because it displays many flicks in the image.
Try clicking start and type "C:\Program Files\Sony\Setting Utility Series\VCCExternalOutput.exe"
When the window appears tick the box and then ok and try the display again and see if this helps.
I have heard of some issues with samsung displays and TVs and i do know that there is a modded inf for the graphics card to force detection of one type of display.
What is the model number of the tv?
The Search function on this forum is still not working properly. If it was you would see that there have been numerous threads in the past highlighting an incompatibility between some Vaios and some Samsung displays when connecting by a VGA cable.
This has been referred to Sony Support and to Samsung who have confirmed there is no solution where this incompatibility occurs.
There is a solution for sub-notebooks with Intel GMA950 graphics

but I'm not sure if it will work for other graphics chips.
