pointing hand icon on phone

Hiya

I suddenly noticed a pointing hand icon in the corner of my Sony Experia compant XZ1 home screen but I haven't a clue what it is or why it's there. I've attached a picture as I'm not sure I've explained it properly. I can't tap on it or 'open' it. My battery is draining very fast the last couple of days even though I have it in stamina mode. I just wonder if this hand icon has something to do with it. I've looked in my settings at all the options but it doesnt appear.

Your Xperia icon shows "Glove mode is activated"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAp-kPVQWcc  Sony Xperia Glove mode

As for working out why things are draining... try charging it up &unplugging, put it into airplane mode and leave it on over night & see what the battery level is in the morning  (it should not have lost many % points).  Do the same the next night but this time in "normal" mode... again, if it hasn't been touched the screen will not have been active and again the phone is likely to have only lost 5% or so...    if it is high drain then something is active like a bad app and it is just a matter of seeing what notifications have occured in why it keeps becoming active.   There is a list of battery draining apps created between every full charge via the advance tab in the Battery settings menu    Slightly_smiling_Face

you have the data saver active too...   is there some heavy data app you are worried about?   or have you just enabled a lot of things (may be by accident) that means the phone is super active (hence battery problems).

If worried about using your data plan (and your data plan is small) with Vodafone you can set a lot of limits and guards via your settings on the account via a PC     I have sim only with them and have MMS picture sending & dialing premium calls blocked so i don't accidently send a picture via MMS to a non RCS contact..  RCS of course is free picture messaging via Vodafone (Googles attempt to make standard messaging like Whatsapp but not all networks have it - shows as "chat" rather than "text" in the send typing box when available).

On the Xperia you can set a warning level for when you are close to your data allowance and a total stop limit in the data settings.    That way both the Vodafone system and your phone try to stop you going into a bad place!

Of course it's 'Glove mode'. How stupid am I?  Thank you very much.

Appreciate the help with the battery draining. I turned my phone off and on, and  it's been ok today so I havent a clue what was causing the drain. I must have had an app running somewhere. Again thank you.
