Active Sync Problem - slow push

Hi

I'm using the brand new Z5 Premium with Active Sync (Microsoft Exchange Online). The E-Mail push notifications come very late, sometimes many minutes later. What could be the problem?

Thank you

Marco

Yes, I mean if it is connected to WiFi or not, does not matter.

But I think to disable stamina mode could be the trick.

Sorry to hear that.

I recommend that you first check if it could be related to the internet connection. If possible, try if this happens on both WiFi and mobile data.

I have the problem with enabled or disabled WiFi. It is irrelevant.

Just to clarify, when you say enabled/disabled, you mean that it is also connected to a WiFi network?

Have you added the account in our email app or did you add it in the Gmail app?

Do you have any task killer, cache cleaner or apps that are supposed to improve battery life installed? If you have enabled Stamina, also try to disable this under Settings -> Power management.

Hi guys,

I noticed the same issue on my X5 and I use Sony built in email app. The delays happens on both wifi and network data (even though push is enabled), and I do not have any task killers, cache cleaners etc and Stamina is turned off. Basically phone has less than 2 days so it is pretty new without so many apps installed.

Basically I get the email when I open the app and then it gets updated.

Cheers

@wima

Please let me know if turning it off helps.

I use a Z5 Premium myself at the moment with ActiveSync and i always recieve push within 10-15 seconds when comparing to MS Outlook on my PC.

@sly_

If i understand you correctly, push doesn't work at all so you always need to open the email app to see if you've received any emails?

What happens if you add the same account in the Gmail app instead? You can do this from Gmail -> [menu] -> Settings -> Add account -> Exchange. Do you get working push with this app?

It takes definitly more then 10-15 seconds when comparing to MS Outlook. But I think at the moment it is ok (about 20-30 seconds). I will see in the future, if it is always within this timespan.

@Rickard

 Tested as per your advice.

WIFI

Test email sent from computer (another mailbox) at 13:02

- gmail app = automatically received (push) at 13:03

- outlook app = automatically received (push) at 13:03

- sony app = waited 10 minutes, opened the app, refreshed and then email was received

NETWORK 4G

Test email sent from computer (another mailbox) at 13:11

- gmail app = automatically received (push) at 13:14

- outlook app = automatically received (push) at 13:12

- sony app = waited 10 minutes, opened the app, refreshed and then email was received

@wima

Glad to hear that it looks like it's working ok now.

@sly_

That's strange.

Could you try to remove the account from our email app and then add it again? When adding the account, could you also add it manually (tap manual setup after entering email address and password)? I've seen some cases where the auto setup get a POP/IMAP config instead of ActiveSync.
