Messaging malfunctioning..

After updating my Z1 compact with the latest android 5.1,version14.6.A.1.216, which was provided with OTA update.. In the messaging app I can't attach file such as sticker, image,Vcard etc... Whenever I touch the 'clip' symbol to attach any files, the keyboard pops up and covers the attachment options. It happens in split seconds... Please help!!

Can you test your phone in safe mode and see of the same things happens or not?
This could be caused by a third party app.

It's working fine on safe mode...

In that case it seems like a third party app is causing this. It's hard to say which app it could be but if you have any apps that adds some kind of overlay on top of the UI (in the style of the chat bubbles of Facebook's Messenger app) that could be a place to start. You will have to uninstall apps that you have downloaded until you find which one it is that causes this.
