I just noticed now when attemping to message someone a picture that pictures I save offline aren't saving. It pops up saying that the picture has been downloaded and saved but then I go into my album and it's not there.
It came about because when I sent someone a picture, it showed on my end as the one I wanted to send, but they got something else, so I opened the picture to full screen and saw what they saw and it wasn't the picture I had sent them. So I went into the Album and boom, it wasn't there... but in messenger, it had it there for me to choose and send.
Also, there was another picture I saved and sent and what I saw, they saw, but again, going into the album, it wasn't there. And it wasn't even in the history of pictures saved... I don't know how this is possible?!
This is really stressing me out me as I'm sure I am missing a lot more than what I just noticed today.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

It seems it's how Android handles images with unknown filenames or when saving directly from Google Images. To get around this, when you find the image on Google, tap on the image, then tap on the "Full-sized image" button on the top right. This will take you to the direct link of the image, and when you save it as normal, it will use the filename on the website. I've just tested it, and it should work for you.

Let me understand this, are you saying that someone send you a pictures through a message (messaging app/MMS), and when you open it its not stored on your phone?
what if you: tap on the picture > menu > save > check the album app

Sorry I didn't explain myself very well.
I went to Goggle, saved a picture off there. It came up with the little message 'saved' as it always does. I go to message to send the image, it shows it's there, and the picture is what I saved, but then when I sent it, the person doesn't see what I sent. They see a completely different picture from my image gallery.
I tried it two more times, even saved the picture again off goggle and sent, still happened.
So I went on google to see if a different picture did it. That said saved, I was able to send it through message and the person I sent it to got it fine, no issue there, but then when I went back into my album, that picture that sent and worked fine, it isn't there at all.
I have no idea what is happening

Hi @Xenatrix,
Welcome to the community.
When you save the photos from Google, what is the name they save as?
I'm thinking they are saving with the same filename and not overwriting the previous image.

They always come up saying "Do you want to replace the existing 'images.jpg' in Download?". I always choose 'Create new file' and it's been saving them as images (1).jpg, images (2).jpg and so on and so on... the last one saved was images (100).jpg a few days ago. Just looking at the one I saved today and it says images.jpg with no number in succession with the others.
I just tried with another picture and yes, that's the issue, it's not taking the consecutive numbers anymore even though I ask it to save as another file.
How can I fix it?

You could edit the names of the currently existing photos to something else or move them to a new folder by using File Commander. It's usually pre-installed on your handset.

Sadly that's an unfortunate option. I save a lot of photos, it doesn't really help in the long term having to constantly keep moving them or renaming them every time I save one. No easy to use fuction of just saving and always having to worry about things being saved over, not great
