Xperia Z5 does have support for OTG host, meaning that you are supposed to be able to connect USB devices to your Xperia device using a USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable.
Have you tried rebooting the phone with the USB device and the OTG-cable connected, and if so, do you receive any kind of error message while doing so?
