Xperia Z5 Compact soft reset and data restore from backup fiasko

I can't figure out what kind of data recovery should I expect from Android backups. Before doing software reset I made manual backups using A) Xperia™ Backup & restore application (on to memory card and also to cloud account). I checked all backup options from settings. B) Google Backup & restore application, backing up enabled and automatic restore enabled. C) Xperia Companion to backup everything to PC. All those processes took time and finished succesfully. Now after resetting the phone I got option to restore phone, it was probably Google application and I accepted. The data I got recovered included: sms messages, phonecall history, e-mail accounts, wifi networks and an incomplite list of previousliy installed aplications. Applications started to download from Google Play after recovery procedure. Contacts, calendar data and e-mails were synced from Outlook. Recovery didn't gave me most accounts, no screen settings or any settings at all, all applications had to setup manually from scratch, creating all accounts, no ringtones etc. Took about 12 hours to get the phone back into state it was before reset. So the question is, is that normal, I couldn't restore from backups any settings for phone or apps?  Even those poor Microsoft or old Symbian backup and restore systems worked perfectly compared to that Android. BTW, fortunately there is also a positive result from that software reset. The new battery now keeping power as it should, probably the old one wasn't so bad either, reset fixed battery drain issue. But I expected the backup/restore process is like entering google account back into phone and all starts to work. No way.
