I have Sonos Beam and and QM2 sound bar tried both and neither are recognised by the the TV on the HDMI ARC port. My DVD player is recognised and works perfectly
I think it was working initially while I was first setting the TV up until a recent software update last weekend.
Just as I had finished the set up I ran the update and now can not get any sound out of the HDMI ARC port.
Any ideas anyone?

I have now had a new main processor board fitted and this has fixed it. The engineer said he had seen quite few of these problems.
Have you tried disconnecting and unplugging everything for a few minutes?
Also, could you share the software version you're running?

Yes I have done that several times now and have just done a full factory reset.
Running the latest software as it did a check when I did the factory reset.
All a bit frustrating nothing has changed, still not connecting on HDMI ARC. It was working on my m2 sound bar before the most recent software update.
Sometimes the TV doesn't detect the software version, so make sure it is the latest by checking the version number.
Thanks again for looking at this post.
Its PKG6.5016.0631EUA
You can also try toggling eARC mode On/Off (under Settings - Display & Sound - eARC Mode).
Hope this helps!

Thanks again for your suggestion but that makes no difference. Still no sound via HDMI ARC .
Having spoken to Sony support they have admitted that it is probably the software update at fault, its now a know issue and they are working on a fix in the next release. Cant be sure when that will be. Very frustrating that such a basic function can get broken in this way.
Thank you for this. I have just applied the update and am now on PGK6.5042.0633EUA.
However the problem is still the same, I don't seem to get any sound out of the HDMI-ARC into the Sonos Beam.
The optical out works so its not unusable but I need the HDMI_ARC to work so I can get control of the sound bar volume via the Bravia remote. Frustrating as I am sure it worked for the first few hours when I was setting it up before the previous software update. The BRAVIA Sync Device List does not show the Sonos. I think that cant be right?
