I've read a lot on various forums but I haven't found a solution to this.
When I try to use ITV Hub I can usually get to the first set of adverts but then the playback just stops. If I try and stop and then resume from where I left off I get the privilage of watching the adverts again but it doesn't get to the programme.
This is only on my Sony Bravia KD-49X8305C. I can watch online or on a firestick without issue. My TV is up to date with firmware V5.433. My ISP is Vodafone. I tried watching through a VPN but that didn't work either.
I used to have the same problem with All4 but it seemed to get resolved with a software update.
Are there any fixes here? Its very frustrating as I get this TV for its 'Smart' features and figured that an Adroid would be a good bet but I've never not had issues like these.
For Android TVs, it's recommended to clear the background data periodically:
Go to Settings - Storage and reset - Internal storage - Cached data - Clear - OK
Afterwards, unplug the TV from the mains for a few minutes.
I have a solution to this annoying problem. Firstly it doesn't matter what TV or box you have - I use a youview box from TalkTalk and a panasonic TV - the same problem getting stuck after an ad. break. This it is not a elegant solution but it always seems to work.
Once the ad. gets stuck (I just get the row of dots repeatedly showing as if it is buffering. I just press "play" again and YES I get the blessed advert again. When the ad. finishes and i get the buffering dots again I press play again - USUALLY the programme then resumes, occasionally it plays the ad yet again but then it always seems to move on to the next part of the programme when I press play a second time I hope this is helpful to any ITV or channel4 catchup users with ANY tv or any TV box.
