KD-49XG9005 Turn on and reboots

My tv above has recently started rebooting when I first turn on the tv. It was since the last update. So I turn on - picture from Sky tv appears but no sound - then it just goes blank and the android reboot screen comes up. It then restarts and sky comes back on. I have tried soft reset/reboot. Can you force re-install the software? Or another option?

I have the exact same issue with my KD-65AG8 after firmware was updated to v7140.0358EUA. 

Have you managed to resolve or reset the firmware?

I haven’t done anything yet. I would follow this thread to see what members say. Great TVs - let down by this bootable software for me. Doesn’t give me confidence. 😬

try the following sequence:

Disconnect any external devices


Next, disable BRAVIA Sync. Press the HOME button on the remote control and select [Settings] > [External Inputs] > [BRAVIA Sync settings] > [BRAVIA Sync control] > toggle the switch [OFF]


Then, disable Remote start. Press the HOME button on the remote control and select [Settings] > [Network] > [Remote start] > toggle the switch [OFF]
Clear the cache of the TV by going to [Settings] > [Storage and reset] > [Internal storage] > [cache] > [Clear]


Finally, perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button on the remote control

Ok I have done this and will see how it goes and return with my findings. 
Do I always leave Bravia sync off now?
