KD-55X8505C - Why no extended warranty as in the US & Canada
Hi!
My tv is experiencing the common problem described here, where the TV just stays ad the google animation https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00171297
We managed to get it to boot one time, and it worked for a couple of days, and then it returned to boot looping.
I've contacted Support, and they just tell me to contact a repairman. I think it's so bad that the warranty isn't extended for a problem that is so widely spread. In the US and Canada, they have extended the warranty according to this https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00235875
Isn't it weird that they don't extend it in the EU as well? (I'm from Sweden).
Anyone else in this situation?

Hi,
Did you perform the forced factory reset but it didn't help?
If so I would suggest to contact a service partner.

Yes that's exactly the problem. I did contact Sony Sweden and they just told me to send it for a repair and pay for it myself. That's the issue my first post explains, why is there no extended warranty for a known issue when they have that extension in the US and Canada. Baffling customer service if you ask me.
