KD-55XF7596 and nonsense characters in EPG
Hi,
I bought Sony KD-55XF7596 two months ago and I have a strange issue with DVB-S2 EPG. Guide app randomly shows bad (non-czech) characters. For example instead of character "á" there is "Âa". So word "Cestománie" is shown as "CestomÂanie", instead of word "španělsky" there is "ĎspanĎelsky" etc. It makes EPG absolutly unreadable.
This happens mostly after TV is unpluged from power for some time or I do system reset (hold remote power button for few seconds). Only factory reset and new setup fix it. But honestly I do not want to do new setup every week (it happened 7 times since I have TV at home). Guide on DVB-T/T2 channels is fine but we do not have good terrestrial signal at home.
Does anyone have similar issue? Some tip/workaround how to fix it without factory reset? Sony support do not have any idea. Support tech did not recommend upgrade to Android 8 yet, as I am using AV receiver and home cinema system with TV.
TV software version: PKG6.5631.0178EUA
Satellite operator: Skylink by M7 Group S.A. (SES Astra 23.5E, Czech and Slovak channels)
Thanks.
