For the past 3 days my Bravia KD-65XE9005 starts with the Android / Sony Bouncing Balls logo routine with each power on after a long switch off (mainly overnight). For short switch offs, it will switch straight back on.
It is connected to my Sky Q box and I get the same result whether using my Sky Q or the Sony remotes to power up.
Prior to this no problems in 4 years.
The TV is set to auto download the latest software.
I have searched high and low, help needed!!

Hi @Axcroft
I would check that your TV is actually on the latest firmware released 18 May 2022. Apparently it "Resolves an issue where the TV randomly restarts". You may have to use the USB method.
Firmware update to v6.7205 | Sony UK
If you are on the latest firmware (which may be the cause of your problem) I would try a factory reset

Fwiw I noticed this from day one on my KD43XD8305 (new in late 2016).
Short periods without power are OK but anything longer and it reboots as if from cold. I'm going to say it normal behaviour, at least on mine. It has been unchanged through all the different firmware updates.
The power consumption in standby should be very low and the TV's are designed for this to be the normal means of turning them off. Again, for mine the power consumption is <0.5 watt in standby. So that is only around £1.50 a year even at todays prices.

Hmm... I've nothing to compare it with really other than the fact it has done this from new and in straight 'out of the box' state.
I'll be interested to know if yours is different after the update.

My TV is now operating as normal, so the software update to 6.7165 has sorted this rebooting out.
However I have not yet been auto-updated (auto updates has always been enabled) with the later version 6.7205 which @LightFoot advised is available and being rolled out.
I am also wondering what triggered my system to suddenly stop working as normal, and as @Mooly01 has pointed out his system has done this from new, so there must be some issue.

Hi @Axcroft On older models like ours (I have a KD-55XE9305) it could takes months before Sony push it out to the update stream which is why I always use the USB method because I’m impatient! My KD-4389J (2021 model) auto updates on the same day new software is released. So far the random reboots on out of standby has stopped with 6.7205 (I have just jinxed it now). It used to do it on 6.7165.

I updated mine via USB earlier today but haven't tried leaving the power off as yet. Hopefully try that tomorrow at some point.

So... no change in the behaviour. Mains disconnect for an hour or so and then if you repower and take out of standby you see the start up sequence.
If you apply power and just leave it for a couple of minutes before taking it out of standby then you don't see this so it must run the reboot sequence silently in this case once the power is reapplied. I'd forgotten that part tbh as I always just use the normal standby for on/off.
