Sky q UHD not working on 55s8505c
My Sky q has had the update to be able to play UHD but when I try to connect it says I'm not connected to an ultra hd TV? I have high speed cables so I'm not sure what I need to do? I'm using a Sony cinema sound (bdv e280) as well.

Hi there
Im assuming that you have connected the Sky Q SIlver box to the BDV-E280? If so, the BDV-E280 will not be able to pass-through 4K signal. Therefore connect the Sky Q Silver box directly to your TV using a high-speed HDMI cable.
Cheers

Thanks Quinnicus, should I then connect the E280 to the sky Q via the optical output for the sound to run through it?
Are there any Sony sound systems that do pass 4K?
thanks

yes regarrding optical as a solution.
and yes there are sony amps (and others) now that have the facility to passthrough 2.2 hdcp - look for that on the model spec.
