Sound problem

I have a Sony android tv kd49xh8096bu and Sony sound bar ht-zf9. Added to this I have a sky q box.

the problem I have is the sound seems to switch from stereo to mono, not all the time but enough to make it irritating. 
I can also describe it as the sound coming from the sound bar to then coming from the tv speakers.

also the info bar keeps dropping whilst this goes on, I fixed that by stopping the info bar in settings.

the tv is 5yr old but still within warranty (John Lewis) the sound bar is less than a year

any help would

How is the TV 5 years old? This model was released last year.

I believe the TV shows a notification whenever the audio output changes (something similar to "TV Speakers Active"), do you see that notification?

No there is no notifications. I thought it was my sound bar so I got a new one. Still the same.

As I was still in warranty, just, I got John Lewis to have a look. They changed the hdmi pc but that only lasted a few days. They are collecting the tv on Monday

the problem is intermittent and they find it difficult to pinpoint.

I have turned the info bar off as it was dropping constantly.
