I am trying to connect my X10 mini pro tp my pc but it keeps saying it cannot find the phone. It is connected via the USB cable. Do I need to change my settings? No messages come up on the phone at all. Nothing will download or update. Any suggestions?

so you already re-installed PC Companion on your computer
then you restarted your computer
then you turn off/on your phone
then you connected your phone to your computer
the LED turned on (green)
and after few seconds/minutes that the phone was connected to the PC nothing came up to mount your SD card?
I don't have any Xperia running 2.1 w/ me but
go to settings -> sony ericsson -> connectivity (do you have that option)?
also try a different micro USB cable or USB port on your PC
It is Android 1.6. I should get a message 'Connect Your Phone' but it doesn't appear. I have tried 3 different cables and 3 different PCs but to no avail. When I drag down the screen it just says 'no notifications'. There isn't a connectivity function, only wireless.
when you connect the phone to the PC does the LED light turn on (yellow, orange, green)?
Green.
that's good, ok so there isn't an issue with the usb cable nor any of the USB connectors
re-install PC Companion, restart your computer and that should do it, it will look for the drivers needed

No still nothing. The 'Connect Your Phone' doesn't appear.
Do I mark it incorrect and unhelpful:smileysad::smileysad::smileysad:

what do you see?
Getting closer. The drivers installed but the phone screen is locked on the battery recharging page. I will try again later, but it is looking good. The big difference was switching the phone off and on. That seems to have done it. I have the phone on charge and will let you know if I win!
