Hello guys, my LCD screen broke 2 days ago after my xperia fell from the table and I think thats the only thing that got damaged so I was thinking in changing it.
I actually found some Xperia X8 LCD's to buy but I don't know how to change it, how to correctly open the device, take out the broken one and put in the new one without breaking something else or messing up the touch capability. Anyone that could help me?
Here is a video of the problem (It is not my video nor my device but the problem seems to be the same):

Thanks in advance!
PS: The invisible cover screen (the one your fingers touch) its not damaged at all. Oh and leaving my xperia to an expert to change it for me its not an option as I live in a small town where theres no one who can fix this kind of problem 😕

does the LCD turn on or not? if the LCD work just fine then what cracked is the digitizer.

uliwooly hi thanks again for replying you're always here to help
Umh I cant believe I didnt see that video before, ok so technically I should do whats in the video till minute 1:57 right?
Then in order to put it back together its just re-assembling or will I need some special tool to join it back together? Like for example at 1:20, 1:30 and 1:35 when he separates those parts, to re-join'em with the new LCD will I need something or its just clicking'em back together?
The LCD does turn on I believe, just like in the video I linked, however the cracked parts are not as big as the ones in the video (its just the edges in my case). Basically I turn on the phone - The screen turns on and shows the cracked lanes - Then it goes back to black again. I then proceed to take out the battery so it wont consume it all (cause I don't have any other method to turn it off)
as long as you don't take hours the glue should be still good, thats only to keep the ribbon in place
just be extra careful with the ribbons as they are quite fragile.

I see.. So what's broken is in fact the LCD right? Not the digitizer?
Thanks a lot
indeed, just be careful
Thanks a lot uliwooly! I'll post here after changing it to tell you how it went

Ok so after a bit more than a month I finally have my Xperia working properly again  As told, I changed the LCD and the problem was resolved.
