Charging isues..

When pluged into a computer, it turns on and off repeatedly and cannot connect to usb. When pluged into a wall charger it turns on and off repeatedly also.  I have updated the firmware and reinstalled several times, i have also "tried taking out and putting the battery in again" as i saw in another thread. i have also tried this "

Have you tried using more then one charger? If not, please try to see if the problem remains.

If it does it sounds like it would be wise to try performing a repair of your phone's software.

You can easily perform the interaction with our program Sony PC Companion, available for download from the link below." . i cant find any further information specific to this phone either. Is it supposed to be doing this can you tell me? It will always shutdown when pluged in, this cannot be normal. Many thanks, D. Wheeler

you can try this

connect your phone to a wall charger > press and hold the power button & volume up for 5 seconds or so (until the phone it's off) > let it charge for 1hr > after 1hr try to repair it with SUS

This would be fine but it recomends that there is at least 50% charge , this suggests that starting with a lower charge will cause problems. it doesnt charge verry well at all while it is repeatedly turning on and off. should i continue at a low charge or wait for it to eventualy charge?

Hi

We had the same.

The phone had the green LED on when we plugged it into the wall charger, so assumed it was fully charged.

The LED would flash red 3 times when we tried to turn it on when unplugged. nothing when plugged in just the green LED.

We have numerous chargers Sony and HTC and numerous cables all did the same, green LED and no response.

Tried it on the usb on the PC and again got a green LED but after a minute it changed to a red LED and the charging symbol on the display.

Seemed to charge ok off the PC and was usuable after about 4 hrs. Switched on ok after long press and booted fine.

I mentioned in another post I think the battery is very flat and for whatever reason needs PC to start the charging process. I'll see tomorrow if it will charge of the mains chargers.

HTH
