Missing contacts

I bought Xperia Tipo today. I like the phone very much, but something is wrong with the Contacts. When I try to add a new contact it says it's been added (and it has, as I can see the name of the person who's calling and names also appear in the log), but my contacts list is as empty as a vacuum.

open the phonebook > press menu > filter select phone contacts
