my xperia ushow ! msg when switched on

so i have this xperia u which i had bought about 2 years ago, the problem started with charging issue, like it woundnt charge or sometime it used to automatically switch off and not open for hours.... 
but now from a month when i charge it open up shows sony logo and then show ! inside a triangle box with a image of mobile for a few minutes and then it turn off on and on again like that.....

You need to perform a repair

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)

Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

i have tried it but when it promt to connect mobile with switch off and volume down button , it doesnot procced to the next phase/step..

You don't hold the power button only volume down - This should enter the phone in to Flashmode and the LED should turn either Green or Blue (Can't recall from memory) this indicates the phone is in Flashmode - If it doesn't stay in Flashmode then there is a driver issue - Either missing which needs to be installed or as above you are running Windows 8/8.1 or a 64 bit system

while i wasdoing the update process a msg poped up saying network error and now when i am trying it again it wont procced to the next step after selecting the xperia u model and doing the volume down botton thing...
it just not shows the next option

yes i am running a windows 8.1 a 64 bit sytem

You need to run PC Companion in compatibility mode and choose either Windows 7 or XP SP2
