Neo w/Gingerbread DLNA Connected Devices Issue

I don't know if the problem is with my phone or the DLNA client (player) hardware but here goes.

DLNA Server - Xperia Neo

DLNA Player - DirecTV Receiver (Media Share Feature)

Neo sees the DirecTV receiver on my wifi network.  I allow it to connect, Media Sharing shows activated in the Neo notification bar.

On my DirecTV receiver I access the Media Sharing Feature and the only device it sees as offering 'Server' capability is my home Windows 7 computer.  The DirecTV receiver will display photos from my Windows 7 pc without problem.  Xperia Neo does not even show up on the list of devices.

DirecTV and Sony both state their devices are DLNA certified.

Is anyone else serving content from their Neo to other DLNA devices besides Windows 7 computers?

Thanks,

I found that the Neo media server 'name' must comply with network naming standards.  I had renamed it from MT15a ... to a 'friendly' name which had a space and ' in it.

I renamed it with no spaces and it's now working with the DirecTV box.

A bit hard to rule either out as the problem maker.

Are you using the Connected Devices app in the phone for this?

I have an ongoing case investigating whether Xbox360 should work or not with this app. Currently it does not seem to work but if I use iMediaShare (3rd party app from Market) it works fine.

Try this app and see if it works better. It might be something similar. Let me know.
