Im just starting using xperia x8. im in the middle of updating my phone from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1. I have followed the steps given but still got problem in "Prepare Section". It displays 'Unable to install or start phone software update components' . Can someone let me know what is the problem? Did I miss out any thing to update the phone?
If you are using PC Companion and is giving you that error message try a few more times, otherwise try using Sony Ericsson Update Service from the SE web, in most cases it works better than the PC Companion.
