SIM card size

I just bought an Xperia V and can´t even start it because the SIM card is too big. What to do? I thought there was a standard size for SIM cards.

Thanks all for your quick replies. I went to the store this morning and got a micro sim, and they also cut my old sim card (with a tool like the one shown in an earlier post) so that I could get my contacts from it. All for free. And I got to keep the cut off-piece if I need to use it as a big sim card sometime.

I don't recomend that you do that (use the big piece) as it might bet stuck in the SIM card port and this damage its not covered (warranty)
