Unlock Xperia S bootloader

Hi,

I am trying to unlock bootloader of my xperia s. I am trying to follow the instructions here:

http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions

Everything is Ok till step 11. When I connect my phone to laptop (simultaneodusly holding volume up button), blue light turns on my phone for few seconds, then phone starts to charge. I am not asked for location of drivers.

I am using windows 8. Please help.

you need to press and hold volume down then connect the USB cable, it would help to run SUS or PCC on your computer before you do all that, are you aware of what will happen once you unlock the bootloader?

the DRM keys will be forever gone so your bravia engine wont work anymore, other apps wont work, you wont be able to update with SUS or PCC

Not applicable

I had to unlock mine under Windows XP (32bit) as the drivers would not install under Windows 7 or Windows 8 (both 64bit) The phone went in to fastboot mode but only very briefly before moving on to mass storage or whatever it was.

Thing is it was a waste of time for me as i cannot root my phone as i need my banking app, so i have an unlocked bootloader and thanks to Barclays the standard .453 Sony ROM lol
