videocalls can be done with android using a data plan or wifi, but there are phones that can make videocalls w/o a data plan/wifi/internet connection, on Android only samsung galaxy S can do videocalls over 3G w/o an internet connection

you can use any of the connection. either 3g or WIFI.

it works well with both of them. as far as about video calling in android, now it is possible in andoird 2.3. any phone which has 2.3 version and front camera can do video calling from it with the helP OF skype 2.1

I dont think you understood you can make videocalls but there are TWO types of videocalls

1) using internet access

you can make videocalls using tango, skype, yahoo messenger, etc

2) over the network w/o an internet connection

only samsung galaxy s can do this, this feature its not part of Android
