...it loses the animated wallpaper I've chose (Earth turning as seen from space). This happens each and every time I restart it.
How can I get the phone to keep the animated wallpaper when restarting?
Thank you!

if you moved this app/wallpaper to the SD card then that's the problem

there might be an app stopping this, perhaps a taskiller or antivirus

Thank you, I have both, I'll try first uninstalling the task killer and if it does not work I'll will ask you again about the antivirus, just to make sure I'm not doing something wrong.
you don't need antivirus apps, you can also repair your phone with either SUS or PCC

Thank you uliwooly!
let us know how it goes
Mmmm... I did uninstall the task killer AND the anti virus, restarted the phone and the animated wallpaper was gone... replaced by the default theme wallpaper (it resembles me an Star Trek announcement, BTW).
What else could be avoiding it to start up?
it could be that the phone ran out of RAM and that stops the live wallpaper, did you sideload this wallpaper? do you have any RAM or Battery apps?
How do I sideload the wallpaper? Please explain to me.
As far as I know I don't have any battery or RAM apps. Just a battery meter and APP2SD. Could any of them be provoking this behavior?
