Hello
I have a Xperia U that came with Gingerbread. 1 Week ago, I have updated to ICS, the official release by sony, from PC Companion.
After that the Wi-Fi never worked properly again.
When I switch on the phone everything looks fine. But when I go from home to office (or the other way around), the wi-fi stays “freezed” on the network it has connected before and do not change to the new one.
I go to the wi-fi settings and it says that it is connected to the home network and the office network is out of reach. But I am at the office…. And of course the data connection does not work!.... If I turn the phone off and on again, it connects to the network. But when I go home again, it does not root to the home network.
I have already made the full repair (factory reset) of the phone (with full data delete) but the problem remains.
With Gingerbread this problem was not there…..
Does anyone has the same problem? How to solve it?
Thanks
Pedro Alves

Thanks for the help.
It worked and now the WiFi is woking properly.
Although I noted a small issue.... Now I have a T-mobile "welcome" and "goodbye" screen.
I tried to change the bootanimation.zip and delete the shutdownanimation.apk, but I get an error message "access denied".
PS - I gone all the way on the Last firmware ICS (step 8).
Thanks in advance.
Glad
LOL so you updated to that latest ICS
Yes its a t mobile software
You need root for that bootanimation and stuff
Are you sure that you have rooted the phone?
I have gone through all the paces you had on your post about the ICS implementation + rooting.
I have installed an aplication to evaluate if it is rooted, It says the phone is rooted, but when I try to delete or remane any of the files do change the animation, I get a mesage that I am not allowed.
Do you know what should I do to get real access to the ROOT?
Thanks again.
