As you've probably guessed this is regarding not having the Gmail account details to unlock my phone.
I have looked through the threads on this site (amongst countless others) and nothing has been overly helpful so I figured I'd just ask
Basically, I have locked myself out of my phone and can't remember the Gmail details required to unlock it. Most people keep replying with "Do a software update using PC Companion" but this doesn't make sense to me as you need to have your phone unlocked to be able to connect your phone to it so that doesn't work (unless there is something painstakingly obvious that I'm overlooking?) I've done the obvious things; taking out the battery, taking out the SIM, trying every single email/password combination I've ever used but nothing is working.
Is there some way to do a hard reset without connecting to the computer which does not seem to be possible?
