Problem with wireless access security key

I have a problem with my Sony laptop PCG-Z1RMP The router secutity I am using is WAP and my laptop will not connect 2 other more modern computers have no problem connecting wirelessly I think the problem lies in the fact that the laptop if 4 years old and cannot cope with the security issue. Any aideas on how to resolve this problem

I recall there was a Microsoft WEP/WPA update for older machines - KB815485 - have you installed this?

You may have to update the software for your Wireless Adapter to support WPA.

Have a look in Device Manager - do you have an Intel PRO Wireless Adapter?

If so, you can update the driver here: -
