Hello,
I've just bought a new XPeria Z2 smartphone, which I'm really excited about.
As the battery went down to 5%, I set the phone on my magnetic charger, which came in the package of the Z2.
In the morning, (after 6 hours), the battery was at 66% only, and didn't charge any further.
Is it a known issue? Am I doing something wrong? Please help.
Thanks, Alex.

That can only happens when the phone is draining more power that it can charge.
On normal occasion, i would cry foul. But you said you just bought the phone. In this case, its normal. When the firmware is new, usually when you just did a repair or update a new firmware, this will happens. And in your case, the phone is new. Android does alot of stuff in the background when it first starts. This can go on for hours. That is why it's also essential to let a newphone charge for a few hours. Mainly to compensate this. And trust me, it happens on all Android. It's just that most of us didn't notice this because we were already told to charge it overnight when we buy the new phone.
Things should settle down a day or 2 max.

Alright, I'll give it a try again this night. I Hope it will be ok this time.
Thanks!
I'm updating, in case someone has this issue, too.
This night, the battery indeed charged to full 100%!
Thanks for you reply Zann.H! I deeply appreciate it!
Yes.. and sometimes the situations is just otherwise... First 2 days after launch the stamina showed 5 days of work and 16 days of standby mode.. after a week it's 2 days work with 5 days in standby mode... not much did happen in the software, all the settings are were they were in day of buying the device, something there has a lot appetite for battery but don't know what... regular things on app runing.. xperia keyboard, android system x 3, kitkat shell, facebook, some processes of widgets and regular calling, energy saving, temperature monitoring. Well just I'm suspicious, it is still the longest working mobile with android ever had, so I'm wery pleased with only 1 charge per 2 days of work. Great job SONY, my friends S4 can hide with it's 10 hour life time per charge
That'sbecause the first 2 days it was 'blindly' estimating usage and power consumption. After a few days or daily use, it wold have enough data and this estimates becomes more accurate.
After lolipop update I can't charge the phone to full, should I make a clean setup via pc companion? My phone goes to 84% and starts blinking charging/notcharging, so finally after 10 h of charging it has only 85% of accu. Anyone had the same?
I charging my Xperia Z2 with no problem.
My Firmware is Lollipop from Malaysia.
what's the firmware?
Mine's 23.1.A.0.690 (5.0.2)
Still charging and waiting for android to lie down and setup itself, now I'm stuck on 83% and nothing happens
