How can I transfer an App to a new phone that is no longer on Play store?

I have a much loved Z5.  It's battery isn't much good any more so I have a new one coming.  A brand new one that was not sold so it is dirt cheap.

I have a favourite App that is no longer on the Play store and I want it on the new phone. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

And the best way of storing the old phone so it can be used again if necessary?

Thanks for your help

@Silvermagic

there isn't a way to do so unless you have root access, you might want to check with the app developer, maybe you can sideload the app

I have never tried to get root access because that requires more know how than I have. I'll look through the App to find out if there is a way to contact the developer.  Thanks, Ullawolly

Hi @Silvermagic!

This will be a bit tricky as @uliwooly mentioned, but if there is some sort of "Contact us" option in the application, perhaps you can find contact information for the developers of the application and they can guide you further. You can install .apk-files from different sources than the Google Play store, so as long as they can provide you with the "install" file, you should be able to install it again.

For storing a device, just keep it in it's original box and store it in some place with a normal room temp you should be fine.

I hope that helps! Slightly_smiling_Face
